I found a dog that I am interested in adopted. What are the next steps?
Begin the adoption process by filling out our adoption form located here. After carefully reviewing your application, we will be able to move forward in the adoption process. We review applications to ensure adopters and our rescues will be a perfect fit. If we feel an alternative dog's needs would better meet the pace of your lifestyle, we will suggest this. All potential adopters must consent to a home visit prior to finalizing the adoption. After the home visit, you can finalize your adoption with your new furever friend! 

Can I meet the dog prior to adoption?
Yes! We encourage meetings before adoption and can schedule a meet-and-greet with one of our rescues upon your request. Please note that additional flexibility in scheduling the meet-and-greet is helpful due to the schedule of the foster family. 
 
What is the adoption fee and what is included?
Due to the extensive love and care our rescues require to become adoption ready, our adoption fees are in a range and the fee is determined by the necessary rehabilitation for a particular dog. Payment is required at the time of the adoption finalization. Fees. go towards the cost of care our rescues require prior to adoption. 

Wagging Tales' adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and comprehensive veterinary care prior to adoption. All dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. All medical records will be given to you upon adoption. Additionally, we will provide you with information about ongoing care and training for your new family member to ensure success with your new family member.

What if we decide the dog is not a good fit for our family (post-adoption)?
Rescuing a dog is incredibly rewarding and we understand that dogs may act differently once they are in your home. Dogs can take up to 3 months to become fully comfortable in their new homes. Adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment and big responsibility. If you are having any troubles with your new adoption, please let us know. We maintain a number of helpful resources to ensure long-term success post-adoption. Adoption fees are non-refundable.
